Because Hotaru could have friends outside of the forest, but the one she hold dear to her heart was her relationship with Gin, and their precious time spent together. Hotaru and Gin both, in this show, showed how their relationship was important to them, and I think that’s what really touched my heart. I said it.) The portrayal of the love between the two main characters, be it the romantic type of the kind between close friends, is really something precious and truthful that I think is hard to find in shows nowadays when romantic feelings and friendship alike just seem to form effortlessly without obvious time spent together or conversations to get to know each other. The AMV I linked earlier really captures the main plot and feelings in the anime-movie, which is how that stupid monster of a video made me cry (There. I’ve probably sweat through my eyes watching a quarter of the animes I’ve watched (so that’s about 40 times?) Well no my tears aren’t as precious as fairy’s tears. It’s been awhile since I watched this show (like, November 2015, it’s been a year man) but youtube took one look at all the Japanese songs and covers I’ve been listening to recently and went ‘oh bub’s watching all the happy anime things lets send a sad one over’ and proceed to steal precious fairy tears out of my eyes.
